01 Day: Gangtok
On arrival, transfer to the hotel. After refreshment, visit the Banjhakari Water Park and Ranka Monastery. In the evening, take a walk through the bazaar of Bangkok through the area of old palace and return back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Gangtok: Situated at an elevation of 5600 feet, on the flank of the ridge, lies 'High Hills' alias the capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok. With about 30, 000 people inhabiting it, it is the largest town in the city. The snow-capped peaks of the Kanchenjunga envelopes the town and offers spectacular view. Amidst the whipping prayer flags, brightly painted pagoda houses, hums of prayers in the background, coupled with smiling people against the beautiful scenic backdrop of the Gangtok, this truly becomes a place worth visiting. It is a heavily forested region bounded by the rivers Tista and Tolung, and surrounded by the mountain ranges of Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Narsing, Simvo and Siniolchu. The Stupas, the monasteries, all reach out with full mysticism to attract a large number of people to this magical land every year.Gangtok, apart from being the second smallest state of India, is also host to some of the important Buddhist religious sites. The small town itself is a beautiful place to be moving around, apart from Gangtok housing many other tourists' attractions. A peaceful blend of traditionalism and modernity, Gangtok is truly a snow covered, fun paradise.
02 Day: Gangtok - Lachung ( 125 kms: 6 - 7 hrs)
Today morning breakfast drive to Lachung via Chungthang: Lachung situated at an altitude of 8600 feet - On the way enjoy a few wonderful locations like Tashi View point, Kabi Lungstok, Naga Waterfalls, Twin Waterfalls, Bhim Nala Waterfalls and the confluence of Lachen chu and Lachung Chu at Chungthang - Lunch will be served at Namok - The road leads through Rhododendron plants of the Singha Forest Reserve extended up to the Tibetan Plateau - Picturesque landscape, snow peaked mountains, flowing rivers blooming rhododendrons - during the summer one can find the riot of colours as Rhododendrons, Primulae and many other Alpine Flowers are in full bloom - arrival at Lachung early evening - Check into hotel - Evening free to stroll up to Lachung monastery. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Lachung.
Lachung: The word Lachung means "small pass". Situated at an elevation of about 9,600 ft and very close to the border with Tibet, Lachung was an idyllic mountain village, but now, a small town in North Sikkim district. Lachung has been described as the "most picturesque village of Sikkim" by British explorer Joseph Dalton Hooker in his definitive, The Himalayan Journal (1855). This speculative town is sprawled across the banks of the Lachung Chu [river] which slices the village in two, with snow-capped mountain peaks, breath-taking waterfalls, sparkling streams and apple, peaches and apricot orchards Lachung is a perfect holiday destination. The prime attraction is Yumthang Vallery and Lanchung Monastery.
03 Day: Lachung
After breakfast leave for Yumthang nearly 26 kilometers and is an hour drive - Yumthang valley is situated at an altitude of nearly 11800 feet with the river Lachung Chu flowing through the valley - visiting Yumthang valley, hot spring, Yumey Samdong and Katao are nearby places, the valley is either snow covered or the blooming Rhododendron always enhance the beauty of the place - On the way from Yumthang one may visit the famous hot spring known for its curative properties - Yumthang is a large valley surrounded by mountains where the tree line ends and the cold desert starts - In the winter months there is snow all around and the snow clad mountains adds to the beauty . Later drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Yumthang Valley is a beautiful valley, home to many beautiful Himalayan flowers. Yumthang Valley is extremely picturesque, with green slopes covered with trees, yaks grazing in the flower-spangled grassy plains below, and a river flowing right through the valley. The serene and tranquil air of the Valley cannot be described in words. A single visit there can leave the visitor in an enchanted state for weeks.It also happens to be situated at what is called "the tree-line", the altitude above which there are no trees. This makes the Yumthang Valley unique in that it has trees and Rhododendrons, and yet abounds in tiny, low-growing Himalayan flowers. The Valley has an astounding, over 24 species of Rhododendrons which paint the Valley red in spring.
04 Day: Lachung - Gangtok ( 124 kms: 6 - 7 hrs)
After breakfast leave for Gangtok - On the way guest can stop between Singhik and Mangan - Return journey is from Lachung via Chungthang, Lunch on the way - If the weather is good and sky is clear one can get to see the Himalayan range with the prominent Khangchendzonga peak - The location on the way offers majestic view of Mountains: Pandim, Kabru, Simvo Jopuno, Khangchendzonga and Siniolchu and other peaks and the road side is wooded Rhododendron forest generally blooms during spring - Back to Gangtok - Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping centre. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
05 Day: Gangtok - Bagdogra (135 kms: 5 - 6 hrs)
Today morning after breakfast check out the hotel and drive to Bagdogra airport to board the scheduled flight for onwards journey. On departure the tour concludes with happy memories.
